Why study the piano?

Making music stimulates the brain and helps your child reach his or her emotional and intellectual potential.

Introducing your child to instrument training is beneficial not only for musicality's sake but also because the experience of keyboard instruction [has been linked] with an increase in spatial and temporal abilities, (abstract thinking skills that facilitate higher-order learning) greater creativity, improved math performance, aesthetic awareness, social interaction, academic skills, and even an enhanced ability to learn a foreign language!

Don Campbell, Author
The Mozart Effect for Children

In February 1997, a study published in "Neurological Research", announced that six months of piano keyboard training caused enhancement of spatial-temporal reasoning in preschool children: they scored 34% higher on puzzle-solving tests.

"Piano instruction is thought to enhance the brain's 'hard-wiring' for spatial-temporal reasoning, or the ability to visualize ratios, fractions, proportions and thinking in space and time."
